Dear Art Friends,
A belated Happy New Year and a cozy weekend to you. After the hustlebustle of the holidays, I took some time to get quiet and organized. I’ve been hard at work and am excited to share some updates about new projects and upcoming events. But first, here’s a postcard from my heart to yours.

NKollectiv
I am thrilled to join NKollective Gallery as a member this year. I’ll showcase new pieces each month and am grateful to have a space to show my work in person on the regular.
Upcoming Events:
Friday, February 16th, 5:30-8:30 Carol Till has an art opening for her series inspired by Prairies. This is the first opportunity to see my work hanging in the gallery, but I have included some of the pieces below. I’d love for you to come out and say hello.

Artma
I’m headed back to Artma, and I couldn’t be more excited about this event. Artma is a unique, funky, fabulous art auction and fundraiser to support The Morgan Adams Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and survival rates of children, teens, and young adults diagnosed with cancer.
The event has multiple galleries with silent and live auctions for art donated by hundreds of locally and nationally renowned artists. There is incredible food, drinks, and general merriment. This event always sells out! This year I made a piece specially for Artma, called “Pocket Notes,” which you can see below. Head to their website to see all of the beautiful art that will be available at this event. I’d love to see you there.
Event details:
When: Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 6-10 PM
Where: Denver Design Center at Broadway Park® by D4 Urban
(575 S Broadway)

2024 pocket notes project
After a burst of beloved guests spanning the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, I am settling into a new rhythm. As part of my daily art practice, I’ve started a year-long project called “Pocket Notes.” The emerging pattern is this: upon waking, I start a fresh note with some writing and drawing. It goes in my pocket and is with me throughout the day. I add to it. Before bed, it gets stitched up, a way to package the day. These messages in my pockets have become good bookends, helping to solidify a needed daily practice of beginning and ending the day with art. They also feel like a well-worn friend in my pocket.
I try and post the progress on this year-long project each Friday on Instagram. I'd love for you to follow along. Link to Julia's Instagram
2024 Postcards from the heart
Last Valentine’s Day, I started a weekly postcard project called “Postcards from the Heart.” I’m finishing up the project on VD 2024 and sending out the final postcards. While I am not doing a formal weekly postcard project this year, I still love sending postcards. If you want to receive one sometime, please use the confidential form to sign up here. Snail mail is one of my favorite delights, and I’d love for you to get a treat one random day in your mailbox.
