Dear Art Friends,
I am thrilled to be Apriling rather than Marching. How about you? My studio is in full swing as I prepare for Spring and Summer shows. I’d love to see you at one of my upcoming events, which I detail below. But first, here’s a postcard from my heart to yours:
Upcoming Events:
NKollectiv
The Spring member show “ReAwakening” is underway at NKollectiv. I’m heading to the gallery tonight for First Friday around 6:45 and would love to see you there, too. Here are some of the pieces I have on display right now.
Each month, I contribute new art to the gallery. It’s a great way to see my work in person. I’m always happy to meet you there to discuss the art; you can email me here to schedule a time (Art meet-up). If you can’t make it to ReAwakening, the next show will hang the week of April 15th.
Artburst
Please mark your calendars for my next online show with Artburst Studios, which will take place from May 29th through 31st. I’ll start giving sneak peeks of my collection for this show in May, but check out the incredible line-up for now.
Other News:
Artma
In February, I had a night to remember at Artma by the Morgan Adams Foundation. I’m honestly still pinching myself. My piece was chosen for the live auction, and I was deeply moved by the response and the opportunity to raise substantial funds for the foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research.
I am honored to have received one of the Artmore prizes. Artmore is a juried exhibition of the work of three Artma 2024 artists, held in 2025 st Space Gallery. I’m planning something special for this show.

Logan School Auction Project
I led a two-session workshop with students at the Logan School for a class project called “Why Art?” Students explored what art means in writing, color, and drawing while simultaneously taking risks and letting go of preconceived notions of what art “should” be. The project culminated in each individual contributing a pocket note to a collaborative background. I love what we were able to make together.
I also love doing workshops! If you have an idea for a 2024 pocket notes workshop, let’s chat! I’d love to hear from you at julia.martin.art@hey.com.
Daily Practice 2024
My year-long pocket notes project continues with completing the January, February, and March calendars. You can follow along with the project on my website here:
That’s all for now. Until next time, thank you, dear reader.
Take and give good care,
Julia
